The Outer Banks scavenger hunt built for your dog. Half a day, the best dog-legal spots on the beach, and a certificate at the finish.
The route
You’ll drive between stops through Nags Head and Kill Devil Hills: shaded maritime-forest trails at Nags Head Woods (the game keeps you on the dog-legal trails), the big dune at Jockey’s Ridge, a dog-friendly stretch of beach, the Nags Head Dog Park, and the Wright Brothers Memorial — leashed dogs are welcome on the grounds there, and admission is charged. The finish is a puppy cup at a classic OBX drive-in, with a backup finish written into the game for the days it’s closed.
Your team name is your dog’s name. Every photo challenge stars the dog. Finish the hunt and they’re certified a Salty Dog of the Outer Banks.
Built around the dog
Every stop is somewhere your dog is genuinely allowed — no leave-them-in-the-car moments — and the briefing opens with hot-sand paw safety, because summer sand here burns. Start in the morning and you’ll finish around lunch.
